Serving the East Bay
OUR STORY
Eden Athletic Club was formally established in 1972 as a nonprofit youth basketball organization and operates under the Eden Township Japanese Community Center (ETJCC). For generations, Eden has helped East Bay families connect through basketball, teamwork, service, and community involvement.
While basketball is at the center of the program, Eden has always been about more than the game. The club reflects a tradition of family participation, sportsmanship, volunteer service, and Japanese American cultural heritage that continues to shape the Eden community today.
Rooted in the East Bay Since 1972
Eden is one of several groups connected through ETJCC, alongside organizations and activities including Taiko, Ikebana, Bonsai, JACL, and the Eden Youth Group.
THE EDEN EXPERIENCE
More Than Basketball
Basketball brings families to Eden, but the experience is about more than what happens on the court.
Parents and volunteers coach teams, manage operations, organize community events, coordinate facilities and equipment, and serve in leadership roles. That shared involvement builds relationships among players and families and keeps Eden connected to the community it has served for generations.
OUR TRADITONS
Community Beyond the Court
Mochitsuki, the Eden Jamboree, and the Eden Bazaar bring Eden families together throughout the year, connecting generations and strengthening ties to the broader Japanese American community.
VOLUNTEER LED
Meet the People Behind Eden
Eden Athletic Club is operated by volunteers who give their time to coaching, administration, events, facilities, equipment, league coordination, and the many other responsibilities that keep the program running.
